Ideas. Books. Audiences.
Creative Publishing
& Book Development
I develop illustrated and gift books — objects meant to be discovered, given, displayed, shared, and enjoyed, not simply read.
Throughout my career, I've been drawn to ideas that sit at the intersection of culture and commerce: spotting an emerging subject, audience, or trend and figuring out how to turn it into a book people will want to pick up. I've built much of my career around recognizing these opportunities early. Sometimes that has meant seeing a market before it fully existed; other times, moving quickly when I could see that a cultural moment was about to become something bigger.
My experience spans nearly every side of the publishing business — from bookselling and special markets to custom publishing, sales and marketing, editorial development, and senior publishing leadership at major publishing houses. Today, I bring that experience to my work as an independent book producer, originating and developing projects and collaborating with publishers, authors, brands, and creative talent.
That unusually broad background has taught me to think about books holistically: the strength of the concept, the people best suited to bring it to life, the design and format, the price point, the retail environment, and ultimately the reader who will choose to buy it.
What still interests me most is the beginning of the process: recognizing the opportunity, shaping the idea, bringing together the right people, and turning something that may exist only as an instinct into a compelling and commercially viable book.
