The projects that attract me tend to begin with something I find culturally interesting: an emerging phenomenon, a familiar subject seen from an unexpected angle, a compelling personality, a visual world worth exploring, or simply an idea that makes me wonder why someone hasn't already turned it into a book.

My interests range across popular culture and entertainment, film and theater, design and visual culture, food and lifestyle, history and nostalgia, photography, personalities, and gift publishing.

I'm particularly interested in books where the physical object matters — where photography, illustration, archival material, typography, format, and design are part of the storytelling and part of what makes someone want to own the finished book.

The subjects may change. The underlying attraction doesn't: a strong idea, a recognizable audience, and the possibility of creating something distinctive.
